Board of Directors

The board of directors of the “Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal” (ATMM) is currently composed of seven volunteers, elected at the annual general meeting by members in good standing. Their two-year term is renewable.

The board’s mandate includes several components >

Promote, organize and supervise the historical interpretation activities of Les Compagnies franches de la Marine and the 78th Fraser Highlanders.

Promote and support research in order to promote the advancement of knowledge on the little-known part of the history of Montreal andNouvelle-France.

Encourage networking with the many stakeholders working in the field of history both in terms of research and interpretation.

Look for sources of funding, be they grant-making, sponsorship or philanthropic donations in order to optimize logistical support for activities supported by Les ATMM.



Guy Vadeboncoeur
Ph.D. educational sciences.

After 6 summers as a historical interpreter within the Compagnie franche de la Marine, Guy Vadeboncoeur then worked at the Stewart Museum from January 1971 to December 2014, for which he organized, directed, and supervised nearly 90 temporary and traveling exhibitions in addition of the three redeployments of the permanent exhibition. He developed solid expertise in strategic planning, collection management, cultural and architectural programming, museum education and the history of New France. Its expertise in the historical field as well as its international network ensures ATMMs privileged access to the best resources for the pursuit of their mandate of supporting historical research and the dissemination of results in the community.


Marc Beausoleil

Marc Beausoleil has over 20 years of experience in advising and financing innovative technology companies. He also managed several seed and venture capital funds, involving him in the support of several hundred entrepreneurs. During these years, he also volunteered with numerous non-profit organizations and social economy enterprises, among others related to culture. It brings to ATMM recognized expertise as a rigorous manager that will allow ATMM to quickly meet their objectives.
