The « Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal » (ATMM) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop, promote and spread knowledge related to the heritage of military troops who participated in the development of Canada’s and Quebec’s society and culture.

Summer activities 2025

Historical demonstrations of musket firing and highland music :

Dates : between the 28th of June and the 31st of August 2024
(Note that on July 20th, August 1st, 23rd and 24th the interprets will not be in the Old Port of Montreal. Canceled in case of rain)

From Wednesday to Sunday at 11:30 AM near the Pond du Parc linéaire de la Commune (between the Great Pier and King Edwards Pier)

From Wednesday to Sunday at 2:45 PM at the Place Royale

From Saturday to Sunday at 2:45 PM near the Pond du Parc linéaire de la Commune (between the Great Pier and King Edwards Pier)

The interpreters are also at the Musée du Château Ramezay on these same days between 10 AM and 4 PM!

Animations and educational games at the Château Ramezay Museum.

Fêtes patrimoniales de l’Acadie

Our historical interpreters will be present at the Acadian Heritage Festival in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu! Come learn more about the daily life of the military!

Verdun historical festival

Our historical interpreters will be present at the Verdun Historical Festival! Come learn more about the daily life of the military!

Maxville/Glengarry Highland Games

The 78th Fraser’s Highlanders participates again at the Maxville/Glengarry Highland Games. The will be doing two musket demonstrations.

18th Century Public Market

Come meet history head on! Comme experience the  18th Century Public Market! Come see the Compagnie franche de la Marine do musket drill and present our educational games.

Dates : 23rd and 24th of August between 10 AM and 6 PM

Come for free historical activities on the 2nd and 3rd of September! A nice way to conclude the summer festivities with you family at the Île-des-Moulins.
